The National Investment Trust Ltd (NIT) is a public limited liability company incorporated on 18 March 1993 as a government initiative to promote “l’actionnariat populaire”. The Company’s shares were admitted to the Official list of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius on 29 July 1993. Over the years, NIT has remained at the forefront of the development of the local financial industry and has created a reputation for excellence in promoting equity investing by the public.  

In January 2008, NIT got the approval from the relevant authorities to establish the NIT Unit Trust and to manage the Trust’s two sub-funds namely, the NIT Local Equity Fund and the NIT Global Opportunities Fund.
